The hyper-realistic pastel drawing online course is dedicated to those who want to learn and deepen the soft pastel technique, and is suitable for both beginners and students with an intermediate or advanced level.
During the course, topics such as: the colour, the textures, the plumage, the animal fur and the complete portrait, through the development of targeted drawings.

The lessons are recorded in High Definition. They are in Italian and have English subtitles. You can enrol up directly on the artist's Patreon channel, deciding whether to opt for the subscription formula or whether to purchase individual lessons.
The basics of pastel drawing
The purpose of the first level is to provide all the foundations and tools necessary to tackle the entire path. It's an indispensable level to understand the functioning and use of materials in different circumstances and to learn how to create shades and glazes with soft pastels.

Colors, textures and plumage
STILL LIFE & PLUMAGE
The purpose of the second level is to address different themes, such as: the use of colour, the creation of different textures and the creation of plumage, drawing two different subjects: a bouquet of flowers and a Kingfisher.

The lessons contained in the level are as follows:

Preparatory phase, to prepare the documents before starting to work on the level drawings.

Still life: flowers, to work with different colors, learn to render the transparencies and textures of the petals and test ourselves with small spaces rich in details.

Plumage: Kingfisher, to address the theme of texture on feathers, short fur and reflections.

Animals and fur
THE DOG & THE CAT
In the third level, we face one of the most requested and complex textures: the fur.
The level is entirely dedicated to the drawings of two animals (dog and cat), to learn how to work on multiple levels and create the effect of the softness of animal fur. In this level, we also work on anthracite paper; this allows us to understand how to work on dark backgrounds, particularly suitable for the soft pastel technique.

The coat: dog. Lesson subject: a Beagle.

The fur: cat. to understand how to make the fur texture soft and give depth to the feline look.

The portrait
PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG WOMAN
The fourth level is entirely dedicated to creating a complete portrait, so that you can apply what you have learned in the previous levels and complete a portrait from top to bottom.
The Level 4 subject is a young woman with curly hair; a highly requested process to learn how to create the movement of a wavy hairstyle, understand how to make the most of the complexion and work on the anatomical parts of the face and hands.
